True Color ND with Integrated Polarizer (Drop-In Filter)
The NiSi True Color ND with Integrated Polarizer is a neutral density filter (ND) that evenly reduces the amount of light entering the lens. ND filters allow for greater motion blur and detail by enabling a wide aperture and slow shutter speed. They are also useful when the contrast between highlights and shadows is too high to achieve a high-quality exposure.
Integrated Polarizer
The integrated polarizer reduces reflections and glare by filtering polarized light reflected from non-metallic surfaces. Natural sunlight becomes partially polarized when scattered by electrons in air molecules, making it appear like a kind of haze. The polarizing filter arranges and filters this directed polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, absorbing much of it. As a result, glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces are significantly reduced, and the saturation of skies and foliage is enhanced.
The True Color coating eliminates the warm color cast seen with other brands of polarizers and provides a more accurate and authentic color reproduction of the scene.
Multi-Layer Nano Coating
The filter is also equipped with NiSi’s patented multi-layer nano coating, which reduces unwanted reflections and provides a waterproof and scratch-resistant layer that makes cleaning unwanted fingerprints, dust, and water stains easier.
Drop-In Filter
This filter variant was specially designed for Athena Prime lenses with a drop-in filter slot.
