With an image circle close to 65 mm, the lens covers ARRI ALEXA 65/265 Open Gate and FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55. The diagonal angle of view of over 122° enables wide spaces, architecture, landscapes and dynamic camera movements with a pronounced spatial effect. With large-format sensors in particular, a great deal of image information is retained without having to switch to smaller shooting formats. For cinematographers, the result is an ultra-wide-angle cine lens that effectively combines wide shots, tight interiors and close foregrounds. The 16 mm focal length supports expressive perspectives without abandoning the professional large format workflow.

T2.9 speed with controlled imaging performance

The T2.9 lens speed extends the range of use in low light and allows a more deliberate separation between subject and background, even with a short focal length. The optical construction with aspherical elements is designed for high resolution from the image center to the edge. Chromatic aberrations are controlled at a level close to APO, which means that edges appear cleaner and colors remain precise even with an open aperture. At the same time, the NiSi 65 PRIME 16mm T2.9 - PL mount is tuned for low barrel and pincushion distortion. This is particularly relevant for architecture, sets with straight lines and technically demanding tracking shots.

Cinema handling for set, follow focus and gimbal

The PL mount corresponds to professional cine workflows and can be used with common large format cameras. 0.8 MOD / 32 pitch gearing, 300° focus rotation and illuminated focus and aperture markings facilitate precise work on set, even when shooting at night or in dark studios. The close focusing distance of 0.25 m enables striking foreground compositions, music videos, commercials and immersive documentary scenes. With a weight of 846 g, 95 mm front diameter and compact length, the large format lens remains practical for handheld, gimbal and mobile camera setups. As the first model in the 65 PRIME series, it is also designed for consistent color reproduction, coordinated dimensions and efficient lens changes.
