On my last two photography trips, I carried the JetMag Pro Landscape Kit together with the matching filter holder and had the opportunity to test the new system extensively in real world conditions. The compact, high quality hard shell case securely holds three ND filters with 3, 6 and 10 stops, a True Color CPL filter, two magnetic front caps, one rear cap and the magnetic adaptor rings. The case opens like a fan, providing an immediate and clear overview of its entire contents.
The magnetic adaptor rings screw effortlessly onto the lens and form the foundation of the system. When attaching the filters, the strong magnetic force is clearly noticeable and ensures a secure hold. For additional safety, the JetMag Pro system features a locking mechanism. When the markings on the filter and adaptor ring are aligned precisely, the filter locks into place and cannot accidentally come loose or fall from the camera.
A word of caution:
Always ensure that the marked locking zones overlap. By rotating the inner ring of the filter holder, the two locking zones can be aligned precisely, ensuring that the filters are securely attached.
I am delighted with and fully convinced by the optical quality of the NiSi filters. Both the ND filters and the True Color CPL deliver colour neutral results in my images without any visible colour cast.
Thanks to the hardened glass, my CPL even survived an accidental fall without breaking or being scratched. The nano coating also makes the filters easier to clean.
In short:
For me, the JetMag Pro is a compact and particularly user friendly filter system that takes up very little space in a camera bag. With one click, the filters attach magnetically, and a quick twist locks them securely in place.
