NiSi IR ND8 Neutral Density Filter
The NiSi 100x100mm IR ND8 Neutral Density (ND) Filter – 3 Stops is a neutral density filter that evenly reduces the amount of light entering the lens. ND filters allow for greater motion blur and detail by enabling a wide aperture and a slow shutter speed. They are also useful when the contrast between highlights and shadows is too great to achieve a high-quality exposure.
The ND8 3-Stop is used during the day outside of the golden hour, as the bright ambient light requires much more “light blocking.” With the right settings, the exposure time during the golden hour can be extended by up to 5 minutes.
True-to-Life Color Reproduction
NiSi ND filters do not affect the image’s color balance, offer true-to-life color reproduction, and are made of high-quality optical glass with a premium, patented multi-layer nano-coating to ensure no details are lost. Additionally, the coating protects the filter from scratches, dirt, oil, and water. Using neutral density filters makes the camera susceptible to infrared light, which can cause unwanted red tints when shooting with a small aperture. NiSi ND filters feature an infrared-blocking coating that eliminates infrared light passing through the lens, restoring natural, true-to-life colors.
The NiSi 100 mm filter system is ideal for cameras with lenses that have a standard filter thread ranging from 49 mm to 95 mm.
