The NiSi NC UV filter for Hasselblad (77mm) protects the lens and preserves the detail resolution of high-resolution Hasselblad cameras with up to 99.9 per cent light transmission. The UV filter for Hasselblad is designed for photographers who wish to combine front-element protection, neutral colour reproduction and high optical quality with sensors of 100 megapixels or more. The NiSi NC UV for Hasselblad (77mm) has been specially developed to meet the high resolution requirements of Hasselblad cameras with sensors of 100 megapixels or more. It utilises lens-grade optical glass, designed for high light transmission, chemical stability and neutral colour reproduction. According to the manufacturer, NiSi’s Ultra Low Reflection Coating (ULRC) achieves a light transmission of up to 99.9 per cent. This minimises light loss, reflections and stray light. This is particularly relevant for backlit shots and strong light sources within or outside the field of view, as the additional optical influence of the filter should be kept to a minimum. A manufacturing process specifically geared towards sharpness also improves the flatness and parallelism of the filter surfaces. This means the UV filter can be used permanently to protect the front lens without unnecessarily compromising the detail reproduction and resolution of a high-resolution Hasselblad camera system.

395 nm UV protection for high-contrast landscape photography

In addition to protecting the front lens, the NiSi NC UV for Hasselblad (77mm) performs an optical filtering function. Ultraviolet light below 395 nm is blocked, thereby reducing atmospheric haze when shooting over long distances. This can contribute to a clearer image and improved contrast, for example, in landscape photography across valleys, when photographing distant architectural subjects, or when shooting in large stadiums. At the same time, the optical glass used is designed to provide neutral colour reproduction without noticeable colour shifts. Combined with the high light transmission, the impact on exposure remains minimal. For travel and landscape photographers, the UV filter is therefore not only useful as permanent lens protection, but also for subjects where haze impairs distant views. The front lens is also protected from direct contact with environmental elements whilst in use, which can reduce the need to clean the lens element itself, particularly during regular outdoor use.

48-layer nano-coating and brass frame for outdoor use

The NiSi NC UV for Hasselblad (77mm) features a water- and oil-repellent nano-coating on both sides, comprising a total of 48 layers. This allows rain and splashes to roll off more easily, whilst oil, fingerprints and other smudges can be removed more readily. This facilitates hassle-free use in changing weather conditions and whilst travelling. The optical glass is set in a solid brass frame, which allows for smooth screw-in fitting and is designed to be resistant to deformation and jamming. This is particularly advantageous, for example, at low temperatures or following mechanical stress. Clearly legible, colour-coded markings indicate the filter type and size, making identification easier even in low light. The frame has also been machined with such precision that the original Hasselblad lens cap can be used over the fitted filter. The UV filter can therefore remain on the lens and continue to be protected by the existing lens cap during transport or storage.
