Direct mounting on the Fujifilm X100 series without an adapter

The NiSi Fujifilm X100 NC UV Filter (black) has been specially developed for the Fujifilm X100, X100S, X100F, X100T, X100V and X100VI. To fit the filter, the factory-fitted decorative ring on the lens is removed and the filter is screwed directly into its place. This means no additional adapter is required, keeping the design compact and avoiding unnecessary components in front of the lens. This is particularly useful for street photography and when travelling, when you want the X100 to remain as compact as possible and ready for use at all times. The design also takes into account the movement of the lens barrel when focusing at close range. The space provided allows the barrel to extend unhindered, ensuring that the camera’s native minimum focusing distance is maintained. The original Fujifilm lens cap for the X100 series can also still be fitted directly. This allows the protective filter to be permanently integrated into the existing camera workflow without having to be removed for transport or close-up shots.

99.3% light transmission with nano-coating on both sides

To minimise any impact on image quality, the NiSi Fujifilm X100 NC UV Filter (black) uses optical glass with a specified light transmission of 99.3 per cent. Both sides of the filter glass feature a multi-layered, anti-reflective nano-coating. This reduces unwanted reflections between the filter and the lens, thereby helping to control flare and ghosting when shooting into the light, under street lighting or near reflective surfaces. At the same time, colour reproduction remains neutral, according to the manufacturer. The optical glass absorbs ultraviolet light and can therefore reduce atmospheric haze as well as the associated bluish colour cast in distant subjects. For everyday use, the outer surface also has hydrophobic and oleophobic properties. Water rolls off more easily, whilst fingerprints, grease, splashes and similar dirt adhere less readily and can be removed more easily. This coating makes it easier to maintain the filter, particularly for a travel or street camera that is regularly exposed to varying environmental conditions.

49 mm front thread for ND, polarising and effect filters

The integrated 49 mm front thread extends the functionality of the NiSi Fujifilm X100 NC UV Filter (black) beyond its protective role. Standard filters with a 49 mm screw thread can be mounted directly onto the front without the need for an additional filter adapter or step ring. For example, a polarising filter can be used to control reflections. An ND filter allows for longer exposure times or wider apertures in bright ambient light, whilst Black Mist and other effect filters can be added to deliberately alter the visual effect of the image. In everyday use, the UV filter remains fitted as a protective layer over the X100 series’ fixed 23 mm lens, shielding its front element from scratches, dust, sand and moisture. As the lens on these cameras cannot be changed, a permanently fitted protective filter is particularly useful for frequently used cameras. The slim aluminium frame is finished in black, making it a perfect visual match for the black variants of the Fujifilm X100 series. The flat design preserves the camera’s compact character and makes the filter a practical foundation for an expandable filter system.
